Christmas in Kirkby

We have a busy programme of events planned for Christmas this year, with something for everyone around the four Church of England churches here in Kirkby:

Sunday 1st November: All Saints day. Services of commemoration for the faithful departed in all four churches, 4pm at St. Mark’s, and 6pm in the other 3 churches.

Friday 13th November: Murder Mystery evening in St. Chad’s.

Saturday 21st November: Christmas Shopping Trip to Chester.

Sunday 29th November: St. Andrews’ Patronal Festival at 11am. All four churches come together for one service.

Parish Advent Course: Running on Tuesdays in Advent at 7:30pm, looking at the lives of four women saints.

  • Tuesday 8th December, Centre 63: Lucy
  • Tuesday 15th December, St. Andrew’s: Eglantyne Jebb
  • Tuesday 22nd December, St. Martin’s: Mary

Friday 4th December: Christmas Cocktails @ St. Martin’s. Come and experience the roaring twenties!

Sunday 6th December: St. Chad’s Mini Christmas Fair immediately after the 11.00am Morning Eucharist.

Sunday 13th December: Children’s Christmas Party. Details tbc.

Sunday 13th December: The Band of the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment performing in St. Chad’s at 6:30pm

Sunday 13th December: Sing-a-long Christmas Carols at St. Mark’s with Cafe Church. Minced pies, mulled wine and your favourite carols at 6:30pm

Monday 14th December: Community Carol Service @ St. Andrew’s at 6:30pm.

Sunday 20th December: Carols by Candlelight in St. Andrew’s, St. Chad’s and St. Martin’s. Traditional carol services with the churches beautifully lit.

Christmas Eve: Crib Services in St. Andrew’s and St. Chad’s at 4pm.

Christmas Eve: First Communion of Christmas at 9:30pm in St. Mark’s, 11pm in St. Andrew’s and 11:30pm in St. Martin’s & St. Chad’s

Christmas Day Communions: at 10am in St. Andrew’s, St. Chad’s and St. Martin’s, and at 11am in St. Mark’s.
