The Runnig Rev

On Sunday 24th April Andy Heber won't be leading the Morning Service at St. Andrew's instead he will be pounding the street of London, taking part in the London marathon.

Andy writes: "I was lucky enough to receive a place in the marathon this year through the ballot and so am now training hard, running 3 times a week, gradually increasing the distance of my long run. I've run the London marathon once before in 2002 when I took 3 hours 52 minutes and still consider it one of the best experiences of my life. I'd love to try and beat that time this year but it all depends on the training and not getting injured .....  and I am 5 years older!"

Andy is running to raise money for 2 Acorns: The Acorn Christian Foundation: a national organisation which seeks to support the healing ministry in churches and which was instrumental in helping set up the parish healing team; and The Acorn Venture Farm in Kirkby which is a great project closer to home. At the moment they are seeking to buy a new horse (to replace one which has just died) and some goats and any money raised will go towards these.

If you would like to sponsor Andy please ring him (548 7969) or E mail:
