The Parochial Church Council is a largely elected group of Trustees each of which serves for three years. It is responsible for all the affairs of our work.
Our ministers and voluntary officers:
Team Rector: Revd Tim Stratford Tim was born in Huyton and spent his first eighteen years being schooled in Knowsley. He has been a priest in the Church of England since 1987 before which he was an electronic engineer working for Lucas. He studied electronics at York and Theology at Wycliffe Hall in Oxford. Since his ordination he has had posts at Mossley Hill Parish Church and St Helens Parish Church. He has served as Chaplain to the Bishop of Liverpool and was Vicar of The Church of The Good Shepherd between Norris Green and Croxteth before coming to Kirkby. He says this is the first time he has ever lived in the countryside and likes Kirkby a great deal.
Vicar of St Andrew's, Tower Hill: Revd Andy Heber Andy has been vicar of St. Andrew's since June 2003. Originally from a small village near Bath, following a year working for Careforce in Huddersfield he studied History and Social Work at Nottingham University before coming to Liverpool in 1989 to work as a church social worker with 18 churches in South Liverpool, helping them explore ways to be more involved in pastoral care and within their local communities. He was ordained in 1999 following 2 years theological training at Trinity College in Bristol, serving his curacy at St. Peter's, Parr in St. Helens (during which time he developed an interest in Rugby league and is an avid Saints fan!). Despite the onset of middle age he enjoys playing most sports, regularly turning out on Saturday mornings for Merseyside Christian Veterans football team and playing cricket for the clergy team. When time and Sunday services allow he also enjoys running, completing the London Marathon in 2002. he is very much enjoying living and working with the people of Kirkby.
