Raphael

Four windows depicting angels (one of the obsessions of the Pre-Raphaelite artists) are set in each corner of the church. Here is Raphael holding a pot of incense, the smoke pouring out as a symbol of prayer.

This is one of the most badly damaged of St Chad's windows. we have coloured a large hole in Raphael's foot but a number of other small pieces of damage can still be seen clearly. This despite wire caging on the outside of the building. We are keen for these wonderful works of art to be seen and appreciated by many who live in a town with little of beauty.
