The interior of St Chad's has been looking a bit tired over recent years. Work began in July to bring about some changes. The first improvement will be a newly levelled floor and red carpet. This will bring a striking fresh appearance to the church. Whilst this work is taking place there will be a level of inconvenience. Worship on 19th July has been moved out of the church altogether. In the pipeline is a new wheelchair-friendly loo, a new kitchen area and a permanent shallow wheelchair ramp at the vestry door. There are also plans to fit new lights and low energy bulbs to both improve the appearance of the church and its carbon footprint. Many thanks to Paul Davies of Paul's Carpets who has helped organise the first phase of this work. Back to St Chad's News Menu |
